Penn Commercial is delighted to announce that A&B Glass Home Improvements has taken a long-term lease on the ground floor of 2 Hamilton Road in Felixstowe, Suffolk, on behalf of a local private client.
Founded in 1981 and employing almost 250 people, A&B Glass has a factory, head office and showroom in Sudbury, Suffolk, with additional depots and offices in Norfolk, Essex, Kent and Gloucestershire.
With the exception of a small proportion of associated home improvement products, the vast majority of A&B Glass windows and doors are manufactured at the 90,000 sq ft Sudbury factory, which has a production capacity of 2,000 doors and windows a week.
In addition to the wider-reaching New Build and Commercial arms to the business, A&B Glass began - and still maintains - a strong local retail division, now under the name A&B Glass Home Improvements, with a skilled local installation team, improving homes across Suffolk.
Something that company owner, Paul McManus, is keen to build further on.
Paul commented:
"People may not recognise the A&B Glass name due to our reach across the South of the country, but we have recently completed a number of domestic projects in the town, and we are also currently working on newbuild and local authority sites in Felixstowe, Ipswich and surrounding areas.
"For some time, we have wanted a physical presence in Felixstowe to showcase our exquisite range of uPVC and aluminium products, and we think that our new site on Hamilton Road in Felixstowe will be perfect for that.
"I grew up in Felixstowe, still live locally and remember the iconic Coes building from my childhood. We’re planning a sympathetic update to the ground floor showroom, starting early next year, and look forward to welcoming old and new customers alike through our doors in the Spring."
