Framlingham Technology Centre marks a quarter of a century of helping businesses start and grow, as it looks ahead to a new chapter of opportunity in East Suffolk.
Framlingham Technology Centre - a Penn Commercial client - is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, marking a quarter of a century supporting businesses and providing a place for companies to start, grow and establish themselves.
Since opening, the Centre has been home to a huge variety of businesses, including small start‑ups that have gone on to become multi‑million‑pound companies trading across the UK and internationally. Over that time, the Centre has changed too, adapting its offices, workshops, meeting spaces and facilities to meet the way businesses work today.
The anniversary comes after a particularly challenging few years. In October 2023, Storm Babet caused significant flood damage to the ground floor of the Centre. An eighteen‑month refurbishment followed, with the building now fully restored and looking better than ever.
Tony Stockman, Chairman of Framlingham Technology Centre, said:
"When you look back over 25 years, there are some fantastic success stories. We've seen businesses arrive here as small start‑ups and grow into substantial companies employing people locally and trading all over the world.
Storm Babet was certainly one of the biggest challenges we've faced, but we've come out the other side with a Centre that has been refurbished and is ready for the next chapter."
That next chapter comes at an exciting time for East Suffolk. Alongside the Sizewell C project, the region is seeing growth across aerospace, defence, space and wider power sector, industries that are bringing new investment, specialist skills and high‑value jobs into the county. As these sectors expand, they create opportunities for local suppliers, technical innovators and support services, strengthening Suffolk’s position as a hub for advanced industries.
The Centre is well placed to support businesses working within these sectors, offering flexible, well‑connected space within easy reach of key transport routes and major regional projects. While office space is limited, the Centre continues to welcome enquiries from businesses looking for a professional base in East Suffolk, and the team is always happy to discuss upcoming availability and future opportunities.

We’re seeing growth in aerospace, defence, space and other power‑related industries too, all of which bring real value to Suffolk.
