Penn Commercial joined over 400 delegates at the New Hospital Programme’s (NHP) East of England Supplier Conference at King’s Centre in Norwich on 17th September 2026.
During the impressive briefing, expertly overseen by Alasdair Reisner, East of England Enablement, NHP, we heard from the various NHS trusts - James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Great Yarmouth), The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust (King’s Lynn) and West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (Bury St Edmunds), construction partners - Dragados UK & Ireland (BSE), KIER Construction (Huntingdon), Morgan Sindall Construction (Milton Keynes) and Skanska (Great Yarmouth and King’s Lynn) - suppliers and stakeholders from across the region and beyond to explore the opportunities created by the five major new hospital projects planned across the East of England. Key to our learnings was the update from Gary Norgate, Programme Director, New West Suffolk Hospital on the plans for Bury St Edmunds.
As well as delivering the most ambitious and far-reaching development programme that the NHS has ever undertaken, the Hospital 2.0 programme aims to help boost capacity, capability and skills for the construction industry in the region, driving sustainable growth for companies from Luton to King’s Lynn, and Ipswich to Peterborough.
An incredible, multi-agency infrastructure project that - when fully delivered in the 2030s - will revolutionise healthcare provision across the East of England, developing centres of clinical excellence for generations to come.
