An update from Amelia Clow on her latest karate competitions

It is great to hear the latest update from Amelia Clow, who Penn Commercial is sponsoring in her successful karate career. Amelia, a Black Belt Karate champion from Kesgrave, Suffolk, has been a member of the Under 21s England National Karate Team since August 2021.

"Mid-February, I headed off to Larnaca in Cyprus with some other England Team mates for the senior Karate Series A event. Unfortunately, I had a very tough draw and so did not progress, losing to the Finland representative; however, I was pleased with my performance and so count it as a successful trip.

"Moving to the weekend just past, I travelled to Sheffield for BUCS (the British University Championships) to represent the University of Nottingham. There, I achieved a bronze medal in my individual category and, as a team, we won overall BUCS National Champions. As a result of my performance, I have qualified for the European University Combat Games in June/July this year.

"A very exciting time with my karate career at the moment. March will be mainly filled with training, ahead of some big competitions coming up in April.

"Once again, grateful for your team’s support along this journey."
